Find your building from our list of eligible buildings.
Quick Benchmarking Steps
1) Create an Account in ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager®
2) Add properties in ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager®
3) Add your Atlanta Building ID (ABID) under Unique Identifiers (IDs)
4) Collect and enter monthly Electricity, Gas, and Water Utility Data for the previous calendar year
5) Submit Benchmarking Report and Audit Report (for ABIDs that end in 5, the audit report is due December 31, 2025)
NEW FOR 2024 - automatically connect your data with the City of Atlanta to ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager®. This is a new process that will automatically share your data each year instead of taking the steps to submit the yearly benchmarking report.

Utility Data
Below are ways to compile monthly utility data for electricity, water, and gas. The following links can be used to access this data and utility contacts to reach out to.

Gas Data
Here is a link to gas marketers you can reach to get data from.
Water Data
You can request water use data from City of Atlanta.
Energy Data
You can get commercial billing data from Georgia Power’s Energy Direct platform. Georgia Power has created an Automated Benchmarking Tool (ABT) for aggregating data, mainly for multi-family properties.

The property you own or manage is of commercial use or a multi-family property.
Your property is more than 25,000 square feet.
Your property is within Atlanta city limits.
If your building fulfils these criteria, you are eligible for building benchmarking compliance. Please click the button below to comply.
Apply for an Exemption
If your property meets the below, you are not required to benchmark under the City of Atlanta.
The property you own or manage is NEITHER of commercial use NOR a multi-family property.
Your property is LESS than 25,000 square feet.
Your property is OUTSIDE Atlanta city limits.
If your property is on the City of Atlanta Building List and needs to apply for an exemption or extension request click the link below.
